What is Stationary Concrete Batching Plant?

The basic construction ingredient is concrete. That is why a stationary concrete batching plant is a vital aspect in the industry of construction. So, what is stationary concrete batching plant? Well, it is a useful facility that blends and mixes the raw ingredients needed to generate concrete. The raw materials are then transferred to the construction site once all of them are properly blended and mixed to completion.

Working of Batching Plant

First, we must know the concrete manufacture process to know the working of this stationary concrete batching plant.
For its production, the main raw materials needed include admixture, cement, fly ash, water, and sand together with aggregates which are gravel and rocks.

There are 4 major operations that will take place in stationary concrete batching plant based on the blending and mixing of the ingredients.

Aggregate feeding is the 1st step. The machine begins to process the first commands which are concrete grade or quality, concrete slump, formula number, and the production efficiency.

Next is the feeding of the powder. Every raw material is weighed carefully using a weighing hopper and thrown into the concrete mixer. Also, the admixture and water valves are operated carefully. It only uses the correct measured amount of all the raw materials, then it would be blended and mixed in the stationary concrete batching plant.

The procedure needs constant vigilance and great care. The concrete would set down for around 30 up to 45 minutes and it should be immediately transferred to the destination.

Oftentimes, they would use mobile concrete batching plants to reach the destination on time.

Types of Batching Plants

Aside from a stationary concrete batching plant, there are other types of batching plants. Well, the truth is that there are only 2 main types of concrete batching plants. The division greatly depends on the process of mixing of the plants. Here are the types:

1.) Ready Mix Plants

A ready mix plant is a type of mixing plant that combines all the raw materials except the water. This means that admixtures, gravel, rock, cement, sand, and the rest of the ingredient are mixed and weighed in the plant. Then, the mixture is transferred to the location of the construction using a concrete mixer truck. For those who do not know, the truck is called a concrete transport truck. After the truck reaches the destination, water is then added at the spot.

2.) Stationary Concrete Batching Plants

This type of mixing plant combines all the raw materials at a central location. This includes water. The product is moved to the required location after the concrete completely forms. This type of plant offers a better product quality that is more high-end and more consistent. It generates a very uniform mixture since all the raw ingredients are combined using computer programs. You may want to get more information about cement silo.

3.) Mobile Concrete Batch Plant

This type is relatively new. It has a lot of containers that separately bring all the ingredients to the required location. They are blended and mixed at the site once all of them reached there.
